Anamorphic Man

'Hanging above the central atrium is Jim Bond's Anamorphic Man. The parts of the sculpture constructed of wire at vastly differing scales, appear disjointed and meaningless until the viewer moves to the single viewpoint from which the assembly coheres as a human figure. 'Assembling bodies' acheives the same trick offering visitors an opportunity to make sense of the human enterprise of exploring and representing their material selves.'

Georgina Ferry - Nature -Vol 459 - 25th June

Anamorphic Man, Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, Cambridge

'Anamorphic Man' was specially comissioned for "Assembling Bodies: Art, Science & Imagination" by The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge University through Kinetica Museum. The sculpture which is 5.5 metres x 2 metres x 2.5 metres is suspended within the central atrium. From a central viewing point a figure is visible.

Atomised
